Newark Arts Festival’s Radical Reimagining theme will amplify how art, culture, and community are the cornerstones of reimagined public spaces and collective experiences. Through Radical Reimagining @ 33 Wash, sponsored by Audible, we seek to ignite conversations about how communities can collaborate to craft vibrant, inclusive third spaces—places where individuals gather, engage, and cultivate meaningful connections.
In partnership with Audible, Newark Arts is continuing our tradition of turning vacant and underutilized spaces into vibrant, fully activated pop-up galleries that inspire. From transforming eight downtown Newark Opportunity Zone retail spaces in 2019 to our healing-centered activation at 33 Washington in 2022, we remain committed to reimagining spaces that foster creativity, connection, and community. This year, Newark Arts and Audible will be transforming 25,000 square feet of office space at 33 Washington Street into a dynamic exhibition center, showcasing and elevating the extraordinary diversity and talent of Newark’s art community.
