Take a sensory friendly tour of the NAF Signature Exhibition at the Newark Museum of Art, designed especially for children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I.D.D.) and/or sensory processing and environmental sensitivities. As part of our Reimagining Legacy theme, this unique experience invites families and individuals to explore the riches of artistic expression in a serene and accommodating environment. Led by experienced guides trained in accommodating diverse sensory needs, this tour offers a tailored experience. In addition to touring the NAF Signature Exhibition, the Sensory Friendly Tour will explore the likes of Animal Kingdom and Arts of Global Africa, as well as participate in a fun art making workshop led by MarbleJam Kids, taking place in the museum court. As families engage with the artwork and engage their senses, they discover that true legacy lies not only in material possessions but also in the moments of shared wonder and discovery that shape our lives.
Special thank you to Newark Arts Festival’s Sensory Friendly Tour partners, RWJBarnabas Health facilities Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Specialized Hospital, Arc of Essex and Studio Arc, and MarbleJam Kids.
