As part of the Newark Future Forum, participants will engage in a collaborative art activity led by renowned artists Denise Toney, Yvonne Onque, and Suliman Onque. Participants will create their own small mixed-media pieces, which will later be joined to form a collective mural representing the community’s vision of equity and justice. No prior art experience is needed, and all materials will be provided. Denise, known for her work with diverse textiles and her community project Newark Lifts, Newark Lights Through the Arts, will guide this creative and inclusive experience alongside Yvonne and Suliman, both celebrated artists who were recently involved in the Olympic festivities in Paris.
