Event Overview:
The Short Film Festival will be held at Express Newark on October 12, 2024, as a featured event of the upcoming Newark Arts Festival. It will take place on the 4th floor of the Community Media Center’s Production Lab, providing an intimate space for filmmakers and audiences to engage. All are welcome to come out and enjoy 23 short films and networking with creators from the Newark community and beyond. 23 Film have been selected from this are and nation wide.

Film Screenings:
Throughout the day, we will showcase 23 selected short films competing for prestigious awards in the following categories:

• Best Narrative
• Best Comedy
• Best Student Film
• Best Documentary

Screenings will begin at 1:00 PM and run until 5:00 PM. After the final screening, we will immediately announce the Newark Short Film Awards winners.

Creator Network Reception:
Join us for a special networking reception from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, where filmmakers, industry professionals, and film enthusiasts can connect over snacks and beverages. This is an excellent opportunity to build new creative collaborations!
