Event Series Event Series: UnSettled: Diaspora Child

UnSettled: Diaspora Child

October 12 @ 10:00 pm - October 13 @ 2:00 am

A deeply rooted experience in history involving the identity of a people, wrapped in an ongoing struggle for a sense of belonging.

This exhibition, a reflection of the forced displacements, the severed connections to ancestral lands, and the continuous search of home in environments that often feel foreign or unwelcoming. The concept of being unsettled is not just geographical; it extends our sense of self, the understanding of heritage, and our place in a world that has marginalized and dehumanized people over time.

Our teams main purpose for this exhibition will challenge the reconciliation of the rich, diverse traditions of our ancestors while celebrating our existence through culture and community. We will no longer struggle with our identities, where we come from or how to preserve our cultures.

Being unsettled is not just a source of discomfort but also a catalyst for growth, empowerment, and the reimagining of our futures. Through the arts, we will reclaim our lives and identities while honoring the paths our ancestors carved for us.
