A Point of View, a Newark Arts Festival Exhibition
In-person
A Point of View
How does point of view inform an artist’s creative output and how is point of view informed by culture, individually or collectively?Â
Each of the artists in this exhibition attempt to answer that question through their own perceptions, behaviors, and expressions based on lived experiences.Â
A Point of View recognizes the essential role that placemaking plays in the cultural, creative and social fiber of the community and the individual within it. These artists works define what is critical to creating a sense of place and identity.
Featured artists: Tanisha Best, John Futrell, Emily Konopinski, Veronica Spruill, Oluwademilade Omoregie, Dejah Monai Johnson, Shannon Thomas, Ashanti Haley, Elaine Wladyga, Leroy White, Ghislaine Sabiti, Jeffrey Cobbold, George Brandon, Anysha Hyppolite, Jamarr Neyland, Steven Levine, Sunae Long & Dante Laughlin, Angel Souto, David DeVose, Michael Dal Cerro, Hank Smith, Pamela Lopez-Cruz, Dinka Creator, Dana Jackson, Alexander Guzman, Lisandra Wieters, Michelle Alexander, Carole Moore, Kaila Boulware Sykes, Alexis Barnes, NiChelle Williams, and Antonio Arroyo.
Our opening reception for this exhibition will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 5 to 7pm.
