The exhibition “Despite the Spoils: A Woman’s Perspective”, features artifacts unearthed during the construction of the new Honors Living-Learning Community (HLLC) building on Halsey Street presented alongside work by five contemporary women visual artists. Thoughtfully guest-curated by Armisey Smith, the artifacts presented include doll heads, fragments of coffin linings, textiles, and other remnants that unexpectedly survived the changes of the land due to weather and multiple re-developments. Furthering this metaphor, the contemporary artworks highlight the resilience of women under constant assault by external factors and political factions.

Featuring artists: Monifa Kincaid, Krystle Lemonias, Theda Sandiford, Pam Cooper, Eleven Muldrow.

While at the Paul Robeson Student Center, be sure to check out two murals organized by PRG: “LAYQA NUNA YAWAR: The Robeson Paean: Actor” and “ARMISEY SMITH: A Question of Time”.
