Theater at Newark Arts Festival 2024 was a captivating exploration of identity, love, and cultural evolution through powerful performances. The day featured Tracie Evette Morrison’s Preach, Preacher, a satirical look at church politics and the role of women in ministry, followed by Tre Calhoun’s Mines and Malcolm Minor’s Barely Visible: A Black Boy’s Journey to be Seen. 

Each performance sparked deep reflection on social issues, personal identity, and the importance of storytelling in shaping community legacy. Held in the Black Box at Radical Reimagining @ 33 Washington Sponsored by Audible, Newark Arts Festival Theater was a dynamic celebration of Newark’s rich history and its commitment to reimagining the future through the arts.
