Virtual Premiere
WAKE UP: Music Video
Filmed in Boston in collaboration with the Massachusetts #poorpeoplescampaign ROXBURY Arts/Culture Committee.
Singer: Russell Taylor
Director: Dominga Martin

Dominga Martin is an Award-winning filmmaker at the intersection of art and social justice. Her work has been featured on BET, VH-1, MTV Music and TV One. She got her start in filmmaking traditionally; as a PA for film and music videos -- quickly rising to work in various film departments including the AD Department, wardrobe, props, post-production and as a script reader. Dominga ventured off on her own, directing her first short film in 2001. In 2008 her documentary dispelling the myth of immigration was invited to the United Nations to open the 11th annual African American Women in Cinema Film Festival. Dominga's cinematic approach is both provocative and a work of art. She is a motion picture artist with the ability to weave in and out of genres, directing/writing/producing narrative, music video, documentary and commercial.

Russell Taylor (singer/writer) is an artist steeped in the rich DIY tradition of legendary creators of Golden Eras past. A true multi-hyphenate -- singer, songwriter, actor, producer, director, writer and teacher -- Russell's projects often meet at the intersection of Art and Activism. Toggling between directing an off-Broadway play GEMS while unpacking themes of patriarchy, to being A VH1 You Oughta Know Artist alum with songs such as “War of Hearts” featured in film & television, Russell is highly revered among his industry peers and music lovers alike. With four full-length recording projects released to date, his latest offering the single Wake Up is a timely call to action that authenticates his deep commitment to creating Art that reflects life, but too creating a life that reflects his Art.
