EVENTS A-Z
The Harvest Mandala is a sharing of our thanks for our personal harvests and the bounty we can produce together. It is a vehicle to explore food, art, waste, wellness, sustainability, science, spirituality, and our existence in relation to the planet and each other. The very act of creating a mandala is therapeutic and symbolic. Mandalas present themselves everywhere in nature; they are the structures of our cells, our world, and our universe. Creating mandalas helps discover our connection with the earth and community through the metaphor of the mandala which means circle in Sanskrit. Consequently, they are an emblem of wholeness, continuity, interdependence, unification, prosperity, harmony and the cycle of life. The Harvest Mandala seeks to inspire those qualities to cultivate our collective well being and healing. Indulge in mandala making and interactive wellness stations that celebrate the notion of harvest as a manifestation of abundance.Â
Featured Artists: Nadine Nelson is a socially engaged educator, entrepreneur, chef, artist, and activist who uses food, sustainability, wellness, and domestic arts to foster community fellowship, strengthen connections, and promote food sovereignty.
