Camp Revival – NAF Kids Exhibition – Gallery Hours

Camp Revival is the culminating exhibition of the NAF 2025 x Genesis Tramaine Young Artist Mentorship Program – a transformative opportunity for eight rising high school seniors from Newark who are committed to pursuing a visual arts degree or a professional art career

Over the course of this program, these students have received direct mentorship from internationally acclaimed American artist Genesis Tramaine, known for her transcendent abstract portraits and her ability to universalize the human experience through rhythmic brushstrokes and vibrant color. With her guidance, the students explored the art of self-portraiture, engaged in hands-on studio work, and gained insight into the life of a working artist.

Made possible in part through Nana’s House, Genesis Tramaine’s foundation, each student was supplied with premium art materials and resources to create their work. The program also included an exclusive visit to the Almine Rech Gallery in Tribeca, NYC, offering participants a rare window into the professional art world.

The result is CampRevival – a collection of deeply personal self-portraits that speak to transformation, resilience, and the freedom to dream. As part of Newark Arts Festival 2025: JOY, this exhibition celebrates both the artistic achievements of these young visionaries and the power of mentorship to shape the next generation.

At the opening of the exhibition, one standout participant will be awarded the Genesis Tramaine Mentorship Scholarship through Newark Arts, a modest college scholarship supporting their continued journey as an artist.
